Senior Graphic Designer - Multi-disciplinary

Marketing agency of 15+ people based in New York City, specializing in integrated corporate branding, seeks a fulltime senior graphic designer with 4-8 years post-college fulltime experience at a design firm, studio or marketing firm. (in-house and ad agency designers should not apply). The successful candidate must be highly proficient with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator (using Adobe CS4 suite), and at doing their own production—it is essential that you can execute projects from concept to delivery.

That’s Nice works for clients in materials and life science industries—specialty manufacturing, biologics and pharmaceutical markets. Experience in these sectors would, therefore, be an advantage; however, a background working with high-volume information graphics would also be well-suited to our work. We are not looking for editorial, in-house or packaging designers.

This position requires a highly creative person who can work through and manage integrated projects from concept to production. There is no team management responsibility but candidates must be able to work independently, handling many projects at one time, and also collaborate in a team environment—taking ideas from lead designers and directors and assisting junior designers. Above all, excellent typography skills and experience building files to finished production standards using all CS4 programs are a must. We do not have a production department and all released files must be print ready.

Traditional background in print design with experience working in many different media would be an advantage—client projects are all-inclusive and vary from print and web flats to environmental / exhibit design to motion graphics. Experience in understanding spatial relationships for environments as well as web architecture and functionality would be advantages—as would be experience working on large strategic client projects with many applications. We rarely work on one-off projects. Web and motion graphic projects do not require programming skills—flat designs only. (Programmers, animators and motion-graphic designers need not apply).

Base salary range $52–60,000 per annum (do not apply if the salary does not fit your range).

A fulltime position with benefits (performance bonuses, Oxford Health, Guardian Dental, 3 weeks vacation, TransitChek option) will be considered after successful completion of 12 weeks' probation.
