The
Committee to Protect Journalists is seeking a skilled and experienced online editor to play a leading role in expanding our digital advocacy. The editor will be in charge of managing CPJ's Web site on a daily basis and developing long-term plans for growth; coordinating CPJ's reporting and advocacy with its Web site presentation; developing online tools to promote CPJ advocacy; using social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to promote CPJ's message and extend its brand; working with all CPJ departments to update and promote their interests; working with staff to develop multimedia reports; analyzing Web site traffic and pursuing strategies to improve traffic; developing and pursuing strategies to increase visibility and traffic for the CPJ Blog.
Required qualifications:
--Excellent hands-on skills in online editing and development.
--Skilled in Mac and PC. Skilled in Photoshop.
--Proficient in HTML and Final Cut Pro.
--Experience in Movable Type or other content management systems.
--Proficient in writing and editing.
--A strong commitment to press freedom.
--Knowledge and interest in international affairs.
--Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.
--Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
