As a User Interface Web Designer/Developer Yodle
You'll be involved on all the front end/user interface design and development tasks, and in co-ordination with a team of product managers, designers and developers, create prototypes and usable web pages for our core web platform. As requirements come in, you'll work in an agile environment of design and development and take charge of transforming these requirements into usable components to support primarily the Yodle Live platform and other web products offered by Yodle Live. This is a full time position in NYC.
Responsibilities
Along with other designers in your team, create web pages and components using HTML, JavaScript, CSS and Photoshop
Work with product managers and information architects to understand user interaction and work flow to create these pages
Make recommendations on design and layout and take better advantage of available technologies
Recommend and evaluate front-end web products and technologies
Ensure that existing front end development standards are followed by the development team
Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
2 to 3 years experience
Must have a portfolio or samples of previous work (candidate is encouraged to send a link to their portfolio/website)
Knowledge of front-end web design/development languages: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML, XHTML and DOM based development
Must be able to hand code HTML without the use of WYSIWYG based editors
Knowledge of image editing and manipulation software such as Photoshop/GIMP
Comfortable working in a team environment
A keen eye for design
Building web components that support a wide array of web browsers and platforms (Windows and Macintosh)
Must be ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
NICE TO HAVES
Experience in version control systems like SVN
Good knowledge of JavaScript for rapid prototyping
Good knowledge of web usability and information architecture
Experience working with JavaScript libraries such as JQuery, Mochikit and YUI
Knowledge of working of content management systems
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
